Can I just come and visit?
Of course you can. That’s why we created this web site. We want you to get to know us and to feel free to drop in to find out more about our church. We’re a no-pressure group. One of us will greet you at the door and get you everything you need for our worship service. We won’t put you on the spot. You’ll never be asked to stand up and introduce yourself to the group or anything like that.
After the service, we often have a small social gathering with refreshments. The social time after the service gives us time to get better acquainted.
We’re not in Portage to get people into our church, so you won’t feel like you’re under pressure to join us. We are, however, not ashamed of the good news of Jesus Christ, so you can be sure to hear about Jesus every time you visit.
You are invited to participate in every aspect of our congregational life. There are, however, some that require special preparation – you’ll need more information about us before you can take part. Holy Communion is a good example. Before communing with us, we would like you to be sure about what communion is, what it means to us and why we only practice it with those who believe as we do. That’s why we have a preparation course for those who want to commune with us. Everyone is invited to take the course. Communion is a special event for our church, and we want you to be ready to celebrate it with us.
